How to get a chicken
- 1 Weekly Care Package A Chicken Egg can be offered in the weekly Care Package of a Prime account. Not every player gets the offer.
- 2 Costs both choices Taking the egg uses both picks of that week’s reward, so no case or skin that week.
- 3 Hatching About a week after you receive it. The exact date is shown in the pet info.
- 4 Feed Chicken Feed also comes from the Care Package, in 3 bag sizes. If feed runs out, the egg or pet is lost.
- 5 One pet per account The egg, the feed and the chicken cannot be sold or traded.
Growth stages
- Egg Sits next to your agent in the main menu. The shell does not reveal the breed.
- Chick Every egg hatches the same yellow chick. Naming and photos unlock.
- Pullet The breed and colour are revealed. The pet can come along to official matches.
- Hen The adult model with more poses in the photo booth.

FAQ
How many chickens are there in CS2?
3 breeds and 34 colours in the roll lists of the game files: Catalana, Silkie and Polish. Six more finished textures are in the files but not in any roll list.
What are the odds of a rare chicken colour?
Valve has not published odds for the egg, the breed or the colour. The weights in the game files are incomplete, so any exact percentage is a guess.
Can I choose the breed or the colour?
No. Every egg hatches the same yellow chick, and the breed and colour are revealed at the pullet stage.
Can I sell or trade a pet chicken?
No. The egg, the feed and the chicken are not tradable and have no market price. An account can keep one pet.
How long does an egg take to hatch?
About a week from the moment you receive it. The exact date is in the pet info in the main menu.
Are these colour names official?
No. They are community labels based on the material names in the game files. The style number is the colour’s position in the breed’s roll list.
