Where does this list of Rust servers come from?
From the Steam master server: every three minutes we pull every Rust server that has players, with player counts, map and tags. The type is worked out from the server name and tags.
What kinds of Rust servers are there?
We sort servers into 10 modes; the busiest right now are Other, Boosted rates, PvE, Solo / Duo / Trio, Creative. Every mode has its own page with the full list and the top by players.
How do I join a Rust server?
Press Connect — Steam launches Rust and joins the server. You can also press F1 in the game and type client.connect ip:port.
How fresh are the player counts?
The list refreshes every three minutes and the page pulls new numbers once a minute. For servers with players we keep 14 days of player history.
